“The Word Is Out” On The Quicks’ New Release!

“It has been an incredible journey since we began this new album sixteen months ago! With the group becoming a trio of Tim, Rebecca, and myself, we were so anxious to walk into this new season of our ministry as well as take the path of creating our own sound. We wanted music that was foundationally Southern Gospel, which is our heritage and passion, but also a sound that was identifiably ‘Quick.’ I believe we have done just that with The Word Is Out,” says group mom Sally Quick.
The new album features six original tunes from the pen of Sally along with three more co-written by her and award-winning singer/songwriter Daryl Williams. The new recording also features songs penned by Bill Gaither and J.D. Sumner.
The Word Is Out was produced by Tommy Cooper and co-produced by Sally Quick and Rebecca Quick. Tracks were recorded at Hilltop Studios in Nashville, Tennessee, and vocals were recorded at AFAB Studios, also in Nashville, Tennessee.
This is the third time The Quicks have teamed up with producer Tommy Cooper. His adventurous spirit and the creative energy of this family have combined to bring an exciting new CD with something for everybody! Crowds are loving this collection of songs from the big band arrangement of the Gaither tune, “If it Keeps Getting’ Better” to the gritty new single, “The Word is Out,” the title cut co-written by Sally and Daryl. This fun radio single release is currently being promoted by the Rick Hendrix Company.
The Word Is Out features some of the industry’s leading session players, such as Jason Webb, Garth Justice, Mike Severs, Duncan Mullins, and more. Milton Smith orchestrated the album, and brass was played by Bones Over Bellevue, Brad Stauffer, and Marty Breger.

They marked their farewell as the Crabb Family with Crabb Family Explosion, a three-night event held in Cleveland, TN, last weekend.“It was a great celebration in the ministry of the Crabb Family,” said Jason of the Crabb Family Explosion. “It was bittersweet, exciting for what is to come, and sad for what we’re leaving behind.”
With their final studio project, Letting Go, scheduled to release nationwide, September 11, 2007, siblings Jason, Kelly, Adam, Aaron, and Terah will say farewell to 15 years of touring, recording and ministering together.
Produced by siblings, Jason, Adam and Aaron, along with producer Tre’ Corley, Letting Go highlights each member’s individual styles of music. The Crabb Family shares writing credits on ten of the 12 songs on the recording. “This is by far my favorite Crabb Family album because it involved the band and the group,” exclaimed Jason. “We wrote it, we played it, and it is a true representation of the Crabb Family today!”
Sticking to their roots in Southern Gospel music with “Child Of The King,” which will be released to Southern Gospel radio in late summer, there is no doubt that the Crabb Family will truly be missed. “We nearly went to the top of all the charts to whom we promote,” said Ty Gilpin. “We had the # 2 song on the Bluegrass Unlimited National survey with Lonesome River Band’s “Lonesome Won’t Get the Best of Me.” It just so happens that Jerry Salley co-wrote that song also. We are blessed to have such talented writers and performers on the label.”
“I agree with Ty,” added Jim Stover. “This company has one of the finest rosters of talent ever assembled under one roof by a record label in any genre. Much credit goes to the Good Lord and our management team for that. What an honor it is to represent these God-gifted artists and songwriters!”

Mitch Kenitzer Embarks Solo with Name Change

Alomg with a new solo career, Kentizer will be changing his stage name undergo a name to Mitchel Jon. “For as long as I can remember, pronouncing and spelling my last name, Kenitzer, has been a problem for anyone outside of my home turf of North Dakota. I know that I knocked Chris White and Beckie Simmons out of their seats when I said I want to change my name. But with their support, we all agreed to take the leap. Since my full name is Mitchel Jon Kenitzer, I decided to just go by Mitchel Jon," stated Kenitzer.
Chris White of Crossroads Entertainment says, “Mitch is one of those rare talents that come along just ever so often. I’ve been through the name change thing a couple of times throughout the years and I’ll admit, it is a challenge. However, knowing the difficulty that even I have had with his name pronunciation, I can understand and certainly support this decision. I have no doubt that we can overcome this small obstacle in a short matter of time. Now that he has the opportunity, I believe that he will overcome any obstacles with his desire to share not only his talent, but his heart, with people everywhere”.
Beckie Simmons of BSA World adds, “No one likes change but in this case, I think it is justified and it will certainly make it easier on our staff to more easily identify Mitchel to all of our buyers and fans alike. He is an incredible talent and we certainly don’t want to hinder his, or our ability, to present him and his ministry to all those who will be blessed to hear and know him. So, we fully support this decision and will gladly work through the process”.
