Janet Paschal To Release Treasure Nov 18

TREASURE marks the first release from the vocalist since the release of her Dove Award nominated recording, SOUNDS LIKE SUNDAY. TREASURE is a tribute to the past and a salute to the future, as Paschal has re-recorded 12 of her most requested songs made popular over the past three decades. In fact, several achieved chart-topping status during Paschal's years with the popular musical group, The Rex Nelon Singers. Songs selected for this recording were many that Paschal fans have continued to request through the years. This list includes, "Come Morning," "We Shall Wear A Robe & Crown," "Jesus Is Alive & Well," "I'm The One" and the recording's debut release to radio stations nationwide, "Hide Me, Sweet Rock Of Ages." Additionally, the recording features a duet with multi-award winning male vocalist, Ivan Parker, as the two deliver "Sail To The Other Side" to musical perfection.
Produced by Wayne Haun, TREASURE is highlighted by songs that have left an indelible mark on the lives of listeners for many years, including the recording's producer. "I grew up listening to these classics on LP," Haun states. "These songs are a part of me. They not only define me as a person, but as a musician, as well. I taught myself to play and arrange by listening to these recordings. To be asked by Janet to revisit them is not only flattering, but also very humbling. I believe the recording will bring back many memories for listeners."
The release of TREASURE coincides with the release of Paschal's brand new book, "Treasures Of The Snow," which will be available via Paschal's website in November. The book chronicles Paschal's battle with cancer, as well as memorable stories from life on the road. Both the audio recording and the book recount God's careful orchestration of the events in the lives of this faithful servant.
For Paschal, writing the book and recording the songs featured on TREASURE reflect a walk down memory lane. "A song often returns me to a particular life event; a poignant mile marker," Paschal shares. "I've a feeling this collection of songs will do the same for many, many listeners."

Christian Music Artist Attends Presidential Debate
In a special Anthony Burger Productions newsletter, LuAnn Burger, wife of the late Anthony Burger, shares news about her daughter's attendance at the Tuesday night (10/07/08) Presidential debate at Belmont University in Nashville:As the eyes of the world focused on Belmont University and the Presidential Debate, we were so proud that Christian music was represented at the event by our own Lori. Her personal invitation to attend and be in the audience for the debate was truly a once in a lifetime opportunity. As others viewed the event on big screens from the Ryman Auditorium and various other local venues, Lori experienced the exciting atmosphere present as Senator John McCain and Senator Barack Obama took center stage.
In Her Own Words
Lori gives a behind the scenes look into the historic event:
As a graduate student at Belmont, I realize the importance of the critical presidential debate and how much of an honor it was to attend. The night before the debate, I received ticket confirmation and my Secret Service instructions! Later I spoke with Gloria Gaither and sang "I've got a golden ticket", and she expressed her jealousy! I promised her I would take good pictures.
We were instructed to arrive and park at Greer Stadium. Then, I took my spot in the extensive line around the ticketing tent. We were told that no food or drink was permitted once we left for the debate (I guess it's a security matter). All eager attendees were searched and went through metal detectors. After we were cleared, we boarded the shuttle buses. I sat in the front and an armed guard gave turn by turn directions as if the driver had no idea where she was taking us!
As the bus approached the Curb Event Center, people were lined on the streets and media crews were everywhere. I must admit the atmosphere was quite electrifying and I'm not even a politician! We had a few minutes to take pictures as we were watched by Secret Service and other people who were "talking to their wrists". Once in the debate hall, the shock of the night came,.. it was freezing cold.. not just any kind of cold, the type of cold that made me ache the whole night! But, I guess no one wants a sweaty politician on TV.
There were several people I recognized like Al Gore, Fred Thompson, Eddie George, Brad Paisley, Vince Gill, Kimberly Williams Paisley, Amy Grant and many others. We were welcomed by several debate officials including Tom Brokaw, Then the great debate started and you saw what I saw.
After the debate we all made our way like cattle back towards the bus embarkation area. However, the buses were not there. The lines were backed up in the rain. Not wanting to get wet or sick, we (Amy Grant, Vince Gill, Chaz Corzine and a few others) decided to take the "red carpet" treatment,.. I mean "carpet" treatment and camp out on the floor until the rainy lines died down. While waiting I was interviewed by Fox News and asked to reflect on the night. I snapped a few more pictures and enjoyed the company and conversation. Tired, hungry, and enlightened I arrived home around midnight. It was an unforgettable evening and I was very privileged to attend.
Lori
LuAnn Burger adds, "As our country enters into this crucial time of selecting our next President, I pray for wisdom and blessings for all."

Guy Penrod Takes A Sabbatical From The Vocal Band
Gaither Music announced today that Gaither Vocal Band lead singer, Guy Penrod, will be taking a sabbatical from the Homecoming Tour for a few weeks. He has been singing and traveling full-time with the Gaither Vocal Band since 1994 and his faithfulness throughout that time is being honored with some much-deserved rest and personal time. Guy will spend these weeks resting, enjoying his family and recharging physically, emotionally and spiritually. The Vocal Band will be assisted by distinguished GVB alumni Mark Lowry and David Phelps, as well as young vocal sensation, Jason Crabb, who will alternately cover Guy's vocal part during the next few weeks. As always, the Gaither organization is committed to creating an unparalleled concert experience for ticket holders and anticipates that these three gifted artists will contribute an extraordinary element to the Homecoming program during Guy's temporary absence.
"Guy has a tremendous following of friends and fans around the world who care about his well-being," Bill Gaither expressed, "So the Homecoming family extends our sincere thanks in advance for fans' support of this decision to give our friend some time off."
"Guy is more than a big voice on whom the Vocal Band relies heavily," he added. "He is first a father, husband and friend and honestly, this time of rest was my idea because I love him and I know that our busy lives rarely offer the opportunity to look after our own needs. I look at this sabbatical as a gift that will refresh Guy and help him keep his body and spirit strong for the years to come."

Scott Lucas Announces Integrity Promotions
Scott Lucas has announced the formation of Integrity Promotions. Integrity Promotions will offer one on one consultation to help with numerous problems artists are facing today with challenging promotional decisions."As always, trade publication and one on one promotion with each and every reporting station has to be done to fit the individual artist needs. It doesnt do an artist any good if they are included on a compilation disc with a dozen different groups. We will keep our compilations to a maximum of only eight songs. We understand the importance of communication, results, and most of all integrity with our artist," says Lucas.
Their first promotional compilation will hit radio in November and more information on their approach to promotion is forthcoming.
