We celebrated the new year while flying over to Texas for some early January dates. What a great way to kick off 2009, 70 degree whether, palm trees swaying in the breeze, and I think there were even little birdies chirping
We all at one time or another get to a place where we just want to say, I can’t wait for the New Year so I can have a fresh start. I have said that a few times myself, life is so full of ups and downs, but these are times we can grow in our walk with the Lord if we lean on Him
Last month we told you of the years in which Adam and I pretended to be fine; all the while our marriage was falling apart. This month, I would like to tell you my personal story. I'm Kathy Glover. Adam and I have been married 14 years, blessed with four children with one on the way
It is a time of rejoicing as we step into a fresh new year. It was a lot of fun here in West Virginia just kicking back with family and friends, sharing our favorite Christmas stories, and enjoying an endless array of Christmas goodies
I heard years ago David Ring ask, “Why do bad things happen to good people?” I have thought a lot about that and I want to ask a similar, yet different, question. Maybe you have asked the same question. Why am I going through this, God?
As we reflect on 2008 we realize that we have witnessed first hand the fact that God is still performing miracles today. This was never more evident to us than when we learned that our very dear friend George Curnutte was diagnosed with stage 4 melanoma cancer in November.
After being home for several weeks now, and taking advantage of not only the home cooked meals but also the homemade deserts we need to get back out on the road to drop those extra pounds that always accumulate!
New. It’s an interesting word. We hear it everyday, yet do we really know what it means? My best friend’s daughter just had a new baby. (As opposed to those OLD babies we see lying around.) My daughter Jamie bought a new Mazda
It is a very scary thing to not know what is going to happen next when you know the next move you make could change your life forever. However, that is why we have a friend in Jesus
How would you finish that statement? What is God to you? Is He the Big G God in your life or are there other little g gods in the way. So many times we let other things influence our lives, from so called celebrities, to friends who try to lead us down the wrong path in life
Those who know me well know that I love setting goals. I’ve studied the art and science of taking a large dream and breaking it down into doable chunks. I follow the rules of setting a timeline, giving myself rewards, and sharing my goals with others to keep me accountable
Not long ago I was feeling sorry for myself and chose to waller (a West Virginia term) in my own self pity. I believed that no one cared and that certainly no one was going to help me through my time. I was at the end of my rope until I looked around and found someone who was more afflicted than
We just celebrated our 14th year of marriage. We spent the first five years lost, the next four years lost in the church game, and the past five years, shedding the darkness of our past (including abortion in both of our lives) and walking in the freedom that only Christ can give
It is my prayer that each of you will join me in proclaiming and celebrating the greatness of this most blessed and glorious season, the season we call Christmas.
Oh! “The Greatness of It All…”
Our favorite part of Christmas has to be all the church plays and stories that are brought to life about the birth of Jesus. It is like seeing your favorite movie that never gets old; it always has a way of touching your heart, no matter how many times you've seen it.
I can see us all bundled up at the local Christmas tree lot, circa 1959-1960, mom and dad and us kids. There was a fire burning in a steel drum where a man took turns blowing into his hands and then stretching them out to the fire. There were strings of colored lights outlining the perimeter of the lot
Now it is time for us to move on to the Blessed time of our Saviors Birth, Christmas: For unto us a Child was born : it has been our family tradition to read the Christmas story out of Luke Chapter 2, my Mom started this many years ago
This time of year always seems to bring a lot of great memories and reflections from a year gone by so fast. The one thing that I love seeing is more people and businesses saying Merry Christmas instead of the so-called correctness of Happy Holidays or the dreaded Merry X-mas
I’m an alien. In 2005, I traveled from my hometown of Toronto, Ontario, Canada to Nashville, Tennessee to attend Ben Speer’s Stamps-Baxter School of Music. It was an incredible experience, and on the last night of the school, God answered months of prayer by calling me into full-time music ministry.
You never know who God is going to use to meet your need when you least expect it. So it safe to say, that this Holiday season, The King's Heralds are truly thankful that we serve a God who cares about broken down vehicles
While driving down HWY 169 in our rental van, we saw quite a site. One that I never imagined I'd see in Missouri of all places. We were nearing our engagement when one of the guys began pointing to something on our left.
Our producer Glen Bates says, " Boys, when it is a God thing you better just get ready for the journey because He is going to take you places you’ve never been". We truly believe that!
I love this time of year. The temperature is cooling off to the point that I actually don't mind singing at outdoor events. The leaves here in Tennessee are a bright and vivid gold, red and orange
We started October off with a week in Shipshewana, Indiana at the Blue Gate Restaurant and Theater (Phone 888-447-4725)!!! Scotty ate enough peanut butter to choke the teams of horses that Eddy drove down the main street in "Shipshe!"
Within our concerts, God is using our music and testimonies to minister to you and those sitting next to you in the church. He has also called us to speak at pregnancy crisis center events this year, sharing how God's mercy has erased the mistakes of our past
I love it when everyone gathers around the big dining room table and the games come out. Whether it’s plastic “men” tapping around a “Sorry” board, Trivial Pursuit, or a never-ending game of Monopoly
When you travel you never know what is going to happen and who you will wind up meeting. A couple of weeks ago, we were in Oklahoma and Texas and we were about thirty minutes away when our van began to spit and sputter and then stopped
I cannot guarantee that I'll stay out of trouble. You've got to understand, with group members like Dustin Bearden, Brad Smith, Mark Blackwood and the occasional company of Jonathan Sawrie, I've got an endless supply of material
That is all we need to know. No matter what happens, no matter how bad or how good it gets, we have no need to worry. God has all of his children In His Arms and under his ever watchful eye
Having spent 35+ years in the southern gospel music world I have seen and been a part of the show at every level. The one thing that is for sure, one day the show will end. What then? What is after the facade?
