NQC Or Bust

image
National Quartet Convention!! I don’t know of any family who gets more excited about the NQC than The Quicks! I remember our first trip when Tim and I made our way from Fort Walton Beach, Florida to Louisville back in 1998.

Hefty Man and Other Gospel Music Superheros!

image
It always amazes me when I hear stories about gospel singers that have been in some of the worst situations possible, yet they managed to sacrifice and go above and beyond the call of duty to do what they do. Mike has shared some stories with me from his days with Gold City that were pretty bad

“It’s Beginning To Rain”

image
The power of song, when used by God, is immeasurable. I’m only speaking from my own experience. It seems every important decision, each loved one, and most every meaningful thing in my life has a song attached

Monument Quartet

You know, there are alot of things I don't understand. Some of them are extremely inportant and used quite frequently, yet others are more obscure. An example of a widely used item would be an automobile engine. Now I did not say that it could not be understood; I just said I don't get it

When He Said Live

image
If you're in a valley and you feel deserted and overwhelmed by your circumstances, remember all the other times God delivered you. After all, is this valley really any different? Just remember, God inhabits the praises of His people

King’s Heralds - Sep 07

image
This month we would like to introduce you to our newest member. Many of you many remember him from his days with The Fox Brothers, Palmetto State and The Old Time Gospel Hour Quartet. He has been in and around the southern gospel music industry for many years

Wait

image
We get is such a hurry and want everything right now and we forget that it's in God's timing, not ours. If we rush God we will never know about trusting in Him, the joy of resting in Him, the glow of His comfort, that His grace is sufficient

An Old Fashioned Campmeeting!

image
In all the places we go there is one thing to say for certain, people still hunger for a great time of worship and praise. I wish that all the services would be treated like an old campmeeting. There's just something about a service that you can truly say the spirit has been there

Dumb Things

image
Do you remember the insurance commercial that said “We all do dumb things”? Well you guessed it! I’ve done a “dumb” thing. To many of you this may come as a great surprise, but I like to ride horses with my daughter and we have 3 horses right no

September Reflections ‘07

image
There are a lot of memories that come rushing in when I think about the National Quartet Convention…some great, some not so great, but all indelibly etched in my mind. A lot of those memories took root down on James Robertson Parkway in downtown Nashv

Something Happened

image
I have grown up thinking the way to tell someone about Jesus was to go straight down the “Romans road.” But so many times the “god of this world” (Satan) has blinded so many people toward the gospel, that it is very difficult for them to take anything “by faith"

King’s Heralds

image
y the time most of you read this we will be headed for South Africa. A couple of years ago the quartet went to hold a crusade as well as do some concerts. The results were 1062 souls became a part of the body of Christ!!

LeFevre Quartet

image
This first article reads more like a biography of the group, but I just want to let people kind of meet the guys. They are not only some of the most talented guys I’ve ever worked with, they everyone have a passion for ministry and that is what God uses above everything

A Clean Record

image
I looked over and saw the police car, looked down at the speedometer, and realized that the speed limit had dropped as we reached the city limits. I pulled over as the blue lights began to flash and told Rebecca to hand me my driver’s license

Who Touched Me

image
We have sing a song titled "Who Touched Me". It talks about the woman in the Bible with the issue of blood and how she suffered many years. she had cried so many tears, and she felt like all hope was gone

Reflections - Aug 07

image
One day a friend stopped by my desk to say “meet you on the playground” and glanced down at my paper. I was working the problems the way I always had…make 64 marks on the paper, cross out 37 of them, and then count what was left. (I never said I was bright.)

The Older I Get

image
I remember as a child growing up in Appalachia we didn't have a lot to do and I couldn't wait until I turned 16 to get my drivers license. It seemed like time just didn't go fast enough.Time was so slow that it took 2 hours to watch 60 minutes on TV

Aaron & Amanda Crabb

image
Don't allow then enemy to keep you depressed because of your past or yourself. Press On.. Sometimes the past isn't always bad.. There are people that are holding onto things that God says that was yesterday I want to do a new thing.

Singin’ in the rain, just singin’ in the rain……….

image
We had stopped at a Wal Mart to try to recover from the stress of driving in the rain. But, everyone in Wal Mart was talking about tornado's and flooding. We didn't know which would be the worse, being in a Wal Mart when the tornado hit or trying to out run the storms!

July Reflections ‘07

image
With the 4th of July around the corner, it’s easy to think of “independence” strictly in the political sense of gaining freedom from tyranny. But I think independence is also freedom from the junk of this life …the stuff we hold on to and don’t even know why

Mike & Kelly Bowling - July 07

image
This week my family lost a precious loved one. My Grandpa Noble went home to be with the Lord on the 28th of June. I got the phone call that morning, as we were traveling. I immediately started thinking about all of the times Grandpa had taken me to school

HUNGRY?  It’s Time To “Fast”

image
My children were in the habit of saying "I'm starving" every time they had the slightest craving. One day I told them, "no, you aren't starving until your stomach is distended from malnutrition and you're too weak to hold the food to your mouth

Fireworks

image
Fireworks are meant to be a wonderful part of the holiday. Fellowship with other Christians is supposed to be a wonderful part of going to church. But sometimes, there are Christians who just seem to get up your shorts

Chocolate Beaches

image
I'm so thankful to be in the center of God's will, touring with TK& McRae and singing about Jesus. But I'm also grateful for the times we get to spend relaxing with family and friends and experiencing things we might never experience if we weren't on the road

Summer Has Arrived!

image
We are going in the studio to start our self titled release on the 5th. I am looking so forward to working with Wesley Pritchard again. He has truly been a asset as well as a prayer warrior for us. This recording will have some good foot stompers as well as some of the most sincere songs I have heard in quite a while

“When I Say Christian”

image
The word Christian means to be Christ like. We often throw stones in the form of verbal attacks and accusations. Who do we think we are? We are no better than those who have sinned. Matter of fact, if we cast stones at all we are far worse than any sinner
