Hello Everyone! Thanks for stopping by. I was so excited when Deon asked me to write for SoGospelNews.com and am looking forward to this new adventure! As you can tell by the title, this article will be all about couples. And since I’m a girl, much of it will be romantic, because us girls just LOVE romance. But guys, don’t think it will be boring to you, because we’ll also get down to the nitty gritty and tell the sometimes awful truth about relationships too! My hubby is very close to perfect, but often leaves his shoes in the floor, just where I can trip over them! But more about that later.
Since this is my first article, I’ll begin by telling you a little about myself.
I am Melissa Brady, married to the awesome Jim Brady, vocalist with the Booth Brothers. (Yes girls, I know he’s cute and I’m glad you think so too.) In March, we’ll celebrate 14 years of marriage, and just so you know, I was VERY young when we got married! The first ten years, we sang together with my dad in a group called The Shulers and tremendously enjoyed that time to minister together. Then, we felt the Lord changing us and leading us to work with the Booth Brothers. So now, I am more of a home-body, only traveling part-time. But you can often find me at a concert, whoo-hooing and clapping for that gorgeous guy singing with the Booth Brothers.
This article came to be after Jim and I recorded a love song Cd filled with songs that we’ve written for each other, and also for friends and family when they were married. As we’ve sung these songs all over the country, we’ve been able to share with folks after the concerts and hear their stories too. So, I’ll be sharing some of these with you, and if you have a story you would like to share, please feel free to write and we’ll see if we can include it some time.
One thing I do know about marriage is that although no relationship is perfect, any relationship can be great. As I heard a pastor say recently, you don’t need to worry about “FINDING” the right person, you need to focus on “BEING” the right person.
So today, I want to encourage you to be who you were meant to be and I guarantee, your relationships will be sweeter.
Many Blessings,
Melissa
