Have you ever been face with a circumstance that you had no idea what the best thing to do would be? I have. Have you ever prayed "God's Will" just because you didn't know which way to go? I think at one time or another we all have. Many of us have been face with the decision of praying for our elderly loved ones who are at death's door. As Christians, we believe in healing and know that God's hand can touch them in an instant and make them well and leave them with us. Still we wonder if that is really what is best for them at that moment. Maybe God's hand needs to touch them and take them home.

Praying for God's perfect will is a tough thing to do. Because if He answers that prayer, we have committed ourselves to trust Him with whatever that result may be.

We are currently looking at the most perilous times we have ever seen as a nation. I believe that 2008 surpasses any other troubled time in America's history. And we have an election before us. I know that I have prayed that the Spirit of God would rise up in the Christians across this land and we would claim America as a Christian nation once again. But the other day I started thinking about the fact that my Bible tells me that things will get worse before Jesus comes back. And I thought for just a moment that perhaps it might be God's will to let things get worse, because the Anti Christ WILL RISE UP according to the Bible. Christians will never be able to stop that from happening, no matter how hard we pray and stand against it. I began to pray again and say "God, I don't want to delay the second coming of Christ by one moment. So Lord, if it takes letting an evil politician achieve a position of great power, a nd Christian values are trampled in the street by those who claim to be enlightened with a so called greater truth, then I pray that YOUR will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

As Christian songwriters, we face a greater challenge today than we ever have. Time is running out. Jesus is coming again, SOON. We need to write NEW songs that proclaim that OLD message. But we can't just write the same old stuff the way we always have written it before. There has to be a new fire in our spirit that is ignited be the Holy Ghost. We need a new passion for declaring that the OLD truth of the Gospel that is being rejected today, is still the ONE and ONLY TRUTH. No man comes to God the Father but through Jesus Christ. And the time is running for people to come to Him.

Let's tell the story while we still can. There may be a time very soon when this Gospel we write, sing and preach, will be declared Hate Speech. And those who proclaim it will be found guilty of Hate Crimes. That time may not be far away.

Let's spread the truth of His Glory in every line of lyric we write. Pray for anointed melodies that will catch the ear of the un-saved and cause them to pay attention. Strive to write songs that are not aimed at winning awards but winning souls for the Kingdom.
