Simply because of the vision we have for this ministry. We are currently picking songs for our fourth project, and the title?we don't know. No, no-that is not the title!! I mean we don't know yet what the title is. Anyway, this project should be available sometime in the spring, stay tuned-we will let you know. The year 2003 should also be a better year because it is a little closer to the Lord's return. So in saying that we expect more souls to be born into the Kingdom of God.
2003 will hold several great dates in which we sing at every year. Some of the annual dates in which we will appear at include Gilmer, Texas at Little Mound Baptist Church's Homecoming May 4th-Greenville, Texas for Lake Country Jubilee on May 17th-Gilmer, Texas October 17th and 18th at the Yamboree Gospel Stage and the National Quartet Convention in the month of September.
However, 2003 will also hold many new places along with making many new friends. These new dates include an upcoming date January 10th and 11th in Rockport, Texas. This 3-day event is put on by the Rockport City Police Department. Another great new date is February 22nd in Canton, Texas with host group Rose City Quartet. There are several new and exciting dates in which The New Plainsmen Quartet will appear at. Just stay tuned. Anyway, we sure look forward to coming to your area. All you have to do is contact me (James) at 405-222-0680 or e-mail me at (JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) and I will be glad to discuss any date with you.
I must mention two very good dates last month. We were invited to be a part of The Memorial Light Ceremony December 22nd in Waco, Texas. This memorial was held at Waco's Memorial Park. Regina Thornton and staff are to be commended for all they did to make this memorial a great success. The New Plainsmen were very humbled and blessed to be a part of this community service. I think this would be a great idea for other communities to do especially during the holiday season. While I am not sure of the exact amount of people in attendance, I estimate there were around 400 there. Let me say-the people, the lights and the love we felt were worth our trip to Waco.
The second date and our last 2002 date were in Kaufman, Texas at Cottage Heights Baptist Church. WOW, WOW, and double WOW!!!!! These people were ready for gospel singing. TEXAS-well, that's what Billy would say!! Tex-a-kin's-there's nothing like East Tex-a-kin's when it comes to loving Gospel Music. I suppose there were close to 5000 people there and what a great crowd. Well, maybe it wasn't quite 5000, maybe it was more like 500!! Hey, it's only a zero that we're talking about! Anyway, seriously this 500 seemed like 5000 and God's presence was everywhere. The best thing is that at least six people were saved just before the New Year rang in!!! Thank God for Salvation!! Well, The New Plainsmen Quartet look forward to all the great things that will happen in 2003. We also pray God will bless each and every one of you throughout this New Year.
