SoGospelNews.com ANNOUNCES NEW FAN BASED CHART

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – SoGospelNews.com, the world’s leading internet magazine for Southern Gospel news and information, announced this week its plans on implementing a new fan based chart in addition to the site’s many features.

The new chart will feature a percentage of radio statistics, while also focusing on fan votes. Fans will be able to vote for a certain number of their favorite songs currently featured on Southern Gospel radio. The goal of SoGospelNews.com is to take the current chart and eventually fade it out of existence while slowly integrating the new vote system.

“We are incredibly thrilled about the possibilities that this new chart could bring to the industry,” said Susan Unthank, owner of SoGospelNews,com. “We hope this will give the industry professionals an insight into what the fans are thinking, what they like or do not like.”

I am absolutely thrilled about the concept of a fan-based music chart. After all, if it weren't for the fans of our music, who would be listening to it?? Shouldn't WE listen to THEM for a change? In my humble opinion, the listener's input is what ALL music charts should be based upon.

Great idea! Many of us live in rural areas not served by 'charting stations' and would gladly call and request air play for favorites, were a station within ear-shot!
Can't wait!
