The thing about Mr. Lester I will always remember is from the Brumley Sing video when his wife took his wig off. Deepest sympathies are extended to his family.

's avatar What a sad thing! He was a very funny man & very sweet too. It just won't be the same at The Caves this year without his humor. May God comfort & strengthen The Lesters as they continue without him.

God is good all the time & all the time God is good.

The one thing that blessed me the most about bro. Lester was the song he sang Thanks to Calvary I don"t live here anymore. Our prayers are with The Lesters at this time.

Herschel....such a friendly individual. A real professional, and yet a down to earth guy. His presence will be missed. A good example of a Christian man doing what God called him to do. Tears of sorrow, and at the same time..tears of joy. As Brian would say "Dad has graduated"! It is a great day when God calls one of his saints home!! Dear Lord, bless this family with your love and comfort.

Hershel and I have been friends for the past thirty-five years, and while we moved away from the St Lous area 13 years ago, I still considered him a dear friend. He will be greatly missed. He was always encouraging me when I had first started out in Gospel Music, and much of his advice I still follow today. Our prayers are with Alene, Donna, Brian, and Ginger.

I will never ever forget Mr. Lester. He was not only my music teacher but my friend. He was the person I could always go to if I had something going on. He will always be in my heart.
