imageNASHVILLE, TN – When Lamon Records Artist George Hamilton IV hit the Grand Ole Opry stage last weekend at the start of GMA Week in Nashville, he was joined by his old friends from North Carolina The Moody Brothers. What makes this appearance special, is the Moodys were joined on stage by their 74 year old father Dwight Moody, and brother Dave Moody’s 16 year old son, Joshua on drums. The Moody Brothers, who earned two Grammy Award nominations in the late 80’s for their fast picking instrumentals, have spent much of the past few years in Europe, performing their own nightly concerts at Disneyland Paris to over twenty-five million guests!

“It was a homecoming for us in a way,” says Dave Moody who performed regularly on the Opry with Hamilton and his brothers until moving to France in 1992. Dave returned to the US in 1998 and turned his attention to Christian and Americana music. In the past three years, he has received five Dove Award nominations for his music as an artist, songwriter and producer, and currently heads the family’s 42 year old label Lamon Records based in Charlotte, with offices in Nashville and London. Hamilton and the Moodys were among this year’s finalists for Gospel Music’s most prestigious recognition – The Dove Awards. Hamilton’s highly acclaimed all-acoustic gospel album On A Blue Ridge Sunday, heavily features the Moody family and the album earned 2004 Dove nominations in two bluegrass categories.

Dave Moody and his band of musicianaries will be in Europe June 8th through July 4th working with local churches and missionaries in France, Belgium, Italy, Spain and England producing a series of outreach concerts and family street festivals through Word On The Street Ministries.
