MorningStar Recording artist Leon "Mann" Kirkland of The Kirklands is recovering at Jacksonville, Florida's Baptist Memorial Hospital following heart surgery Thursday.

Mr. Kirkland began experiencing chest pains at his home in Douglas, GA on Tuesday afternoon and was transported to the hospital by his family. After being stabilized, the doctors discovered that Mann did not have a heart attack, but did have three major blockages.

The medical team has installed three stints in three separate arteries and Mr. Kirkland is now resting comfortably. He is expecting to be released in the next 48 hours.
