The Greenes to Sign Copies of New Biography
Boone, NC — The book that everyone's talking about is nearly ready to be released. One of North Carolina’s favorite Southern Gospel trios, the Greenes, will offer a handsome hard-bound book about their lives to the public during their 22nd Annual Southern Gospel Jubilee, at High Country Fairgrounds, on August 4 – 8. The book, “Hold On: The Authorized Biography of The Greenes” is authored by Mike Collins, with the foreword by Bill Gaither.
“This volume is the gripping and inspiring story of America's Southern Gospel Trio, the Greenes,” said Keith Davis, CEO of Woodland Gospel Publishing, a book-publishing firm in Logan, WV. “This special book is titled after the Greenes’ current hit, ‘Hold On.’ — a song that is now #25 on the Singing News Southern Gospel charts.
Davis added that "this dear family - Tim, Tony and TaRanda Greene, and Kim Greene Hopper - has faced challenging difficulties and enjoyed wonderful blessings through their successful and enduring career in Southern Gospel music. Through all the valleys and mountaintop experiences, the Greenes have pushed ever forward with the vital message of hope and grace that is found in Christ Jesus.”
The book, the first biography on the Greene family, features many of the occurrences the trio has lived and endured during their successful career, including growing up in the Southern Gospel industry, struggling through personnel changes and facing dangerous health issues. The book also shares some of the Greene family’s photographs – over 100 snapshots -- through the years.
Special interviews and comments are included by Everette and Carolyn Greene, Dottie Rambo, Danny Jones, Amy Lambert Templeton, Kim Greene Hopper, and many others in the volume.
“We are excited about this project and we look forward to signing books during the Jubilee. Mike Collins, the writer, will also be at the Jubilee. This book even tells the story of TaRanda and my dating life, and eventual marriage,” Tony Greene stated, and chuckled. “It’s a humdinger of a story.”
While the book was still at the printers, Tony and Taranda became the proud parents of Isabella Faith Greene. Isabella was born July 15 at 12:13 a.m. EDT. She weighed 7 lbs., 15 oz. and was 20.5 inches long.
“It’s a wonderful time in our lives,” Tony added. “Come and pick up your copy of ‘Hold On,’” said Tony. “We hope it will inspire readers toward a closer walk with the Savior.”
