Tony McGee & New Covenant Named as Host Group in Radio Station’s Annual Concert Series
For the past two years, 104.3 WEYE has been the leader in Christian Radio in East Tennessee’s Tri-Cities listening area. Station manager, Randall Seaver says, "The ratings over the last year or so have been incredible. We are so excited with what God has done and what he is continuing to do in our ministry."
WEYE has put together two Listener Appreciation Concerts in Kingsport, TN and both have been sell outs. The concerts have included artists like The Hoskins Family, The Whisnants, Mike Bowling, The Dunaways, Southern Harmony, Living Waters Trio, and more. The next concert is October 9th featuring: The Whisnants, Reggie Saddler Family, Kyla Rowland & Deliverance, and Tony McGee & New Covenant. WEYE has the annual concerts in May and October. Beginning 2005, the radio station will add an additional day on the annual concerts.
WEYE has chosen Tony McGee & New Covenant to host this two day event. Seaver says, "We chose Tony McGee & New Covenant for our concert series for many reasons. We chose them because of their relationship with the radio station and because they are literally in our back door. With their single being added to Solid Gospel’s playlist and our affiliation with the Solid Gospel Network, this makes them the perfect choice."
Tony McGee & New Covenant is a newly formed trio from East Tennessee consisting of Tony McGee (formerly of the Redeemed), Shane Ferrell (of Lighthouse Promotions) and Karen McPherson. The trio will make their first appearance on Sunday, August 15th at Maple Ridge Baptist Church in Candler, NC. Their single, "On The Third Day" is now being played on Southern Gospel radio nationwide. Their debut project, "Somebody Prayed," will be released August 17th.
