Douglas “Butch” Brown Passes Away Suddenly

CHECOTAH, Okla. – Douglas “Butch” Brown passed away unexpectedly on Saturday evening, December 18, 2004. Brown supposedly suffered from a blood clot in the lung and died instantly with relatively no pain.

Brown owned and sang with popular west-coast group The New Creations (also known as Cross’N Over) for several years. Brown was survived by his wife, Anita, and three children, Doug, David, and Kymberly.

The viewing will be held today, December 22, 2004 at Lighthouse Christian Center in Eufaula, OK from 1-5 p.m. Funeral services will also be held at Lighthouse Christian Center on Thursday, December 23, 2004 at 10 a.m.

The Brown family requests your prayer for this unexpected loss.

Family is requesting that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to the family to help cover funeral costs.

"Butch" will be missed. I truly hated to hear of his passing.He had one of the most beutiful commercial voices i ever heard and his spirit was so strong and contagious ,i always felt better after being in his presence. I will continue to pray for his family during this time.Butch did so much for a young group years ago when he booked dates out west .his unselfishness for us was truly humbling.The Impacts will always cherish his memory.God bless !

"Daddy" will be missed! He treated me like his own and always gave me the opportunity to sing when I was around. Doug, I so wish I could be there to help you all celebrate his Home-going! My heart and prayers are with you all!!

A pastor friend of mine shared with me that you can't lose something when you know where it is. I have spent many hours with Butch in the studio both on the west coast and here in Nashville and I can say without a doubt that I know where he is. He was a great man of God and a true friend in every since of the word. My wife and I send our prayers to his family and friends. Just know that we will soon sing with him again! May God be with you in your time of loss.
