The Jordanaires Receive Grammy Nomination
As announced Dec. 7, legendary Gospel and Country Music Hall of Famers, pioneers of the American pop and gospel hit parades and Top Ten's most recorded vocalists, The Jordanaires, have received a Grammy Nomination for the album, 20TH CENTURY GOSPEL: FROM HYMNS TO BLACKWOOD BROTHERS TRIBUTE TO CHRISTIAN COUNTRY. Highly acclaimed for their past 55 years in commercial recorded music and for their versatility and mastery of gospel, country, pop and rock, The Jordanaires' influence extends to wherever close harmony and recordings, TV and film are heard throughout the world. As the most recorded and trend-setting of all the vocal backing groups, The Jordanaires are the gospel and pop quartet sound that launched a million singers in addition to the backing sound Reader Comments
I send my congrats to Gordon Stoker,we have been
great friends thru the years.I think of the great sounds of the Jordanires.I think of Cully Holt, Bill and Monty Matthews. Gordon needs to write a book.I think of many of the early pioneers of Gospel music, who are all but forgotten, and never mentioned.I am also reminded of the Original "Foggy River Boys"
