Country Music Legends The Oak Ridge Boys Perform at Presidential Inaugural Event
Washington, DC—January 24, 2005--Country music legends The Oak Ridge Boys performed during the Presidential Inauguration Celebration on the night of January 20th, in Washington, DC, for around 1,000 of the top donors of the Republican National Convention. The group performed some of their biggest hits including "American Made" and "Elvira" as well as a rendition of "Amazing Grace." They also sang songs from their recent Journey release, including "Train, Train" and their new country radio single "Someplace Green." The group was introduced by Former President George H. W. Bush. It's exciting seeing these men being involved in such a strong and powerful way in the life of our nation. They are truly "in the world" but not "of the world." They are constant reminders that you can have an impact for the Kingdom of God, regardless of the profession that you're in or regardless of the music that you enjoy.
May these men continue to keep up the good work for many years to come.

The Oaks sparked an interest in Gospel Music for me in the 60's.
