Tony Gore Announces “Tony Gore and Majesty Encore Tour”
Tony Gore is excited to announce that former members and friends, Calvin Thornton and John Lanier are joining him at selected dates for the “Tony Gore and Majesty Encore Tour.”
Nashville, TN: When Tony Gore formed Tony Gore and Majesty in 1993, they were an immediate hit with Gospel Music fans everywhere. With songs like “Thank God,” “I Know What It’s Like,” “I’ll Put On A Crown,” and “Meanwhile In The Garden,” they were topping the charts and became the most requested artists on Gospel Music Television and in major radio markets across the United States, South Africa, and Ireland where they were the first Southern Gospel group to tour.
When Tony became a solo artist in the Spring of 2002, many thought they might never hear that great Tony Gore and Majesty sound again. Tony has since developed an exciting solo ministry. John has a great solo ministry as well as being a minister. Calvin is Minister of Music at his church in Atlanta, GA. But as a result of Tony’s enduring friendship with John and Calvin, a special, one night event was planned for Charleston, WV, this past New Year’s Eve. The response was immediate and emphatic! “The whole auditorium was electric, “Tony remembers, “The crowd would not let us stop singing. We sang encore after encore!” Tony, Calvin and John talked, and spoke with The Beckie Simmons Agency, and the decision was made. Each will continue their separate careers, and a few more, very selected dates would be added for the “Tony Gore and Majesty Encore Tour.”
“During the days of Tony Gore and Majesty, I have never experienced the magic of any trio compared with TGM,” Beckie Simmons, CEO of BSA recalls. “We are so excited about bringing back that same anointing and excitement once again.”
The “Tony Gore and Majesty Encore Tour” is booked exclusively by The Beckie Simmons Agency. Anyone interested in scheduling any of the select dates should contact them at 615-595-7500.
