Palmetto State Qt Commissioned as Kentucky Colonels
![]() The members of The Palmetto State Quartet are recent recipients of the highest honor awarded by the Commonwealth of Kentucky. On April 9, 2005 Kerry Beatty, Rick Fair, Andrew Ishee, Aaron “Tex” McCune, and John Rulapaugh were all commissioned Kentucky Colonels. The commissions were enacted by Senator Vernie McGaha of Russell Springs, Kentucky on behalf of Governor Ernie Fletcher. The presentations were made during a Palmetto State Quartet concert in Columbia, Kentucky. Reader Comments

John Dear, not only are you one of my favorite tenor's but now you are my favorite Colonel. Congratulation to Palmetto State for the Award as Kentucky Colonels. I will see you in Palatka Saturday Night.
