1. Everlasting Hope is an interesting group. We often see three ladies singing together, but you have four. How did you end up with four singers and how does that affect your sound?

We started a group when we were younger for Fine Arts Festival, a ministry building program in the Assemblies of God. After Fine Arts, we continued to sing and God began opening doors for the ministry we have today.

We ended up with four girls because we are all sisters. Having four girls allows us to sing a lot of traditional four-part harmony like a male quartet with a progressive twist. It really makes for an interesting sound when it is coming from a group of girls.

2. Who picks out the songs you sing and what is involved in your decision? What type of sound are you trying to achieve?

We all have a decision in the songs we pick. We start from a big list of songs and through a lot of thought and prayer; we narrow the list down to 12+ songs. When selecting music for our albums, we not only want to choose catchy songs, but more than anything, songs that can minister to us and through us to the people we are ministering too.

As far as our sound is concerned, we are trying to achieve an interesting mixture of Southern Gospel and Inspirational music.

3. What's the hardest thing about trying to book an all female group?

We haven't thus far run into any problems because of our gender, but more with spreading the word about the ministry we have in Everlasting Hope.

4. Where is the most exciting place you have sung, and where is the most exciting place that you want to sing in the future?

Singing God Bless America for the Cleveland Indians in the 7th inning stretch after MLB resumed play following 9/11 is the most exciting place we have sung. Well Deon, the place we would most like to sing is next year for the SGN Music Awards, but next to that we would like to sing on stage with the Gaither Vocal Band!

5. Are any of the group members related?

Everlasting Hope is made up of two sets of sisters. Megan and Becky are a set and Abby and Amanda are the other set.

6. What is your long-range goal for Everlasting Hope?

Our long-range goals to really let God take control of what he wants to do in our lives and in this ministry. Ultimately, we would really like to do this full-time and to in some shape or form have our entire family involved with the ministry. We all enjoy ministering very much and would really like to make a career out of ministry.

7. Is there a story behind the name Everlasting Hope?

We had just started ministering at local churches and were known as “The Girls.” A pastor soon contacted us asking for our name and we said we would have to call him back in a couple of minutes. We all got together and frantically began thinking of names when finally “Everlasting Hope” popped up. So, we called him back and the rest is history.

8. Is there a question that you would have liked asked for this article?
