New artist of the year, humm, you would think that would mean NEW ARTIST not groups that are two & three years old.

So Terry, whenever there's two or three deadlocked groups in the new artist column, but only one gets it, does that mean that the next year some crummier group should get the award above one of the major professional contenders from the year before?

Jerry,
So let me see if I understand, your saying they should carry the groups over each year until they win something just because they are a so called professional group and the voting was close? Oh now I get it. Maybe they should just rename the catagory.. "New major professional artist of the year" Yep, that ought to cover it. That's kinda like baseball giving out a rookie of the year award to a player thats been playing for 5 years, I dont think so.
