Jonathan, what is the story behind your name, Young Harmony?

Actually, an older lady at a church where we were singing stood to testify, "How wonderful it is to see YOUNG people in HARMONY doing what GOD has called them to do." Well, those two words just stood out to me and 'voila' here we are! lol

Did you and Ginger just start singing together, or were you both in different ministries before getting married?

I traveled with a trio known as "the McClure Trio" from the Chattanooga area and one day we were scheduled at a church where there was this GEORGOUS girl directing the praise team. She just fell in love with me and asked me to marry her. We were married 7 weeks later. (ok, I fell in love with her and asked her, but the rest is true!)

Who's the Boss in your group? Who picks the songs you sing? Who decides the arrangements?

I, Johnathan, am the boss! Lol we together choose most of the songs that we record and also work with Donna Beavuis (Hope's Call) on the arrangements. Of course we work together as a team in all that we do.

What have been the drawbacks of singing as a duet, rather than, say a trio?

Well, there are some promoters that say they don't care for duets, but I just say "k". This is what GOD has called us to do and we love it this way. We do, however have on stage with us a Keyboard player, Bass Guitar player and a production manager that travels with us. We are more than just a man and woman traveling as a hobby. We are called of GOD to deliver HIS message in song form. No drawbacks here! lol

I believe that you wrote your current hit "God's Still God". Tell us the story behind that song.

Well I did write our new release, "God's Still God" and it is based on my true life miracle. Some say that GOD use to talk (you know like when HE talked to Noah, Moses etc.) and that HE used to heal (like Lazarus, the blind man and others) but that HE doesn't do that anymore. I wrote the song to say "HE still does!". We pray that GOD will use the song to reach into the hearts of both the saved and unsaved. HE is truly BIGGER than we give HIM credit for!

Is there someplace special that you haven't sang at yet, but you would love to?

Well, now that you mention it, what about the SoGospelNews Award Show? Lol .In all actuality, we just want to sing everywhere and tell everyone what GOD has done and is still doing in lives of people everywhere. Any door that is opened we walk through!

Is there anything diffferent that Young Harmony is doing that is unique to you?

I can say that we aren't interested in bringing entertainment to your church, but a 'Revival Concert'. We pray before each service that GOD will use us to change the lives of everyone in the building. Our prayer is also, "Don't let us blend in".

Describe a Young Harmony concert or service to us. What makes you different that a Pastor would want you to come to his church?

We generally sing some 'clapping' songs, and some 'crying' songs along with some 'smiling' songs, but all of them have a message of encouragement, and faith. If a pastor wants a group that is excited about the calling, then he wants us. If a pastor wants someone only to make his congregation have a night of fun, we aren't that group. We are ministry focused and hope to always be. Now there is nothing wrong with laughing, it does us good like a medicine, but we need ministry also and we try to bring both. A Young Harmony concert also includes testimonies of GOD's healing power. GOD healed Ginger from Ovarian cancer and me from a major car wreck. We tell about it everywhere we go.

Young Harmony truly has a tremendous testimony and would be an asset to any church service. They are making inroads in Southern Gospel Music for other duets, so if they are making their way to your comminity, make sure that you makethe effort to see them for you will be blessed.

Johnathan and Ginger seem like fun people but it's their music that excites me. Their style is unique and it is infectious. Their song "Good Morning, Lord" lit up radio station telephones around the country. How marvelous is that? It's an honor and a blessing to be able to play their music on my internet radio stations. Thank you, Lord, for Young Harmony.

I have had the honor of being with Young Harmony several times and everytime, I see God do incredible things in people's lives. If you want to experience screaming endings and bad jokes, there are a ton of gospel groups that will give you what you want. If you want to truly experience God, then you need to go see Young Harmony! I am so blessed to know them!
