he was a great man and an icon of southern gospel music.if he wanted he could have been as big of a name as bill gaither.he will be truly missed.if you look at the people he influenced that should be a good enough of an example of the icon he was.

although i didn't get to see gerald that much, i remember him coming with his group to the 4th and marstellar church of god in wilmington, n. c. where he played and sang with his group. just out of the army at ft. bragg, he allowed myself and bobby williams to come and learn how to work on pianos. i got my start doing that and now own have owned hill's music shoppe in henderson, n. c. since 1970. always a nice person.

Many wonderful memories run through my mind when I think of Gerald. He touched my life in a great way and left those great memories for me to spend my lifetime with.
