Brian Free & Assurance - Timeless Hymns & Classics
For being around less than two years, these guys are very polished. From the song selection on this CD, it is apparent that a lot of time and thought was put into this project. One of your favorite songs is bound to be in this list.
Starting with the old “Dad” Speer song, “Heaven’s Jubilee”, this CD is full of excitement and lots of fun as everyone takes off on a different part on the last chorus. Bill Shivers does a tremendous job interpreting the beautiful classic “What A Day That Will Be”. There are some interesting chords blended in the chorus also. Bass singer Bill Lawrence does a good job of some really low down singing on “We’ll Soon Be Done (With Troubles And Trial).” Brian Free shows that he can communicate the message in “Oh What A Savior” as good as any of the Tenors who have sang this song. Craig Singletary gives a great rendition of “Hide Thou Me”. I haven’t heard anyone sing this song with as much feeling since Jim Hamel recorded in the sixties.
Other songs that I really enjoyed included “When They Call My Name”, “What A Lovely Name”, and “Oh The Glory Did Roll”. There are eleven songs on this CD, and not a boring one in the bunch. YOU won’t be disappointed in buying this CD.
