It’s time to dig out the Christmas music!!  It’s finally here, it’s finally here!!  I have my favorites, but this year, I’m adding a new one to that list.  It’s Channing Eleton’s new Christmas Project, “Christmas is Finally Here.”

Jim Hamil once described Southern Gospel Music as “three chords and a cloud of dust.”  Well, even though we hear the great Gospel pianists who play for many of our groups, we may not really get to hear how truly awesome they are until they do a solo project.  This is not Channing’s first solo project.  He released “Be Still And Know” some time back, and it is still one of my favorites.  He has certainly showcased his talents again, in this great Christmas project.

* I’ll Be Home For Christmas opens the project.  It is a great arrangement of the classic song, complete with gleeful laughter of children.
* Joy To The World is next. It’s a very upbeat and lively arrangement.
* A jazzy rendition of Santa Claus Is Coming To Town gets you thinking about whether you’ve been naughty or nice.
* The classic, Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas, features not only Channing’s piano artistry, but wonderful vocals from Daniel Riley.
* O Christmas Tree is a soothing instrumental to sip your hot chocolate and enjoy the holidays.
* A new arrangement of Angels We Have Heard On High will delight you
* Next, Channing treats us to a rousing arrangement of Little Drummer Boy.
* A great arrangement of Feliz Navidad is next, including a guest appearance by Anthony Burger on the Hammond C-3 organ.
* Jingle Bells (Christmas At Charlie Brown’s) is a special treat to those of us who are Peanuts fans!
* Mark Bishop provides the vocals for a super rendition of My Favorite Things
* To close out the project, and your year, Channing provides a wonderful performance of Auld Lang Syne.

Christmas Music is one of the joys of the season.  If you’re like me, you just can’t get enough.  Channing Eleton is one of the best Pianists in Gospel Music, and his artistry shines brightly in this special project.  You will be glad you added it to your Christmas music collection

Personal Favorites are I’ll Be Home For Christmas, Feliz Navidad, Angels We Have Heard On High, and Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas.
