A name that is synonymous with the legends of Southern Gospel Music is that of the Couriers.  Starting in the mid 1950s as a college gospel quartet, who knew the remarkable impact this group would have in the world of gospel music.  They had one of the most identifiable sounds in all of gospel music.  They had a unique sound that was distinctively “Couriers”.  Now that the original members have retired from the road, a new breed of Couriers has arisen.  Consisting of Tim Beitzel, Larry More and Scot Womble, these men have taken on the awesome responsibility of carrying on the tradition, and as the title of this recording states, they are “Continuing the Vision.”

Some of the highlights of the recording are “DEAR JESUS, ABIDE WITH ME”, “THE VISION/SEEK THE LOST” (which is an excellent reflection of their past legacy, while looking ahead on the continuing call of God on their lives), “GOD BECAME A LITTLE LAMB”, HERE I AM, LORD” (excellent performance by Tim) and the up tempo “GOD IS GOOD.”

Other songs included are “RENT, WITH THE OPTION TO BUY”, the Lari Goss classic “HE’S SO GOOD TO ME”, “I’LL WALK WITH GOD “, “AMAZING LOVE” and “LISTENING FOR THE TRUMPET.”

Though I feel these guys have pretty much replicated the sound and musical arrangements that is characteristically “Couriers Music”, the overall quality of the recording lacks a bit.  With heavily synthesized music, and at times the vocals not being exactly together, makes the recording less than what I feel it could be.  Though a decent effort, it could have been much better.

I have always had the utmost respect for the major contributions made by the Couriers, and the great music they have given us over the years.  I am looking forward to seeing what the future holds for the “new” Couriers and am excited at thinking what may be on their horizons.

James,As you know,I've enjoyed The Couriers for a lot of years. And consider the second generation Couriers ready and, willing, and able to carry on the tradition.Within the last year or so I've got a chance to get to know Larry and Scott. But I met and became friends with Tim through the list when he was still a soloist.(I think both you and Bob Whitehead met him at about the same time.)I'm looking forward to purchasing and enjoying the new CD.And checking out the drawbacks you mentioned.

I'm a singer and an avid listener of Gospel Music for a good many years indeed !
I believe that "The New Couriers" did a fine job on their new release. As well carrying on the "Courier Tradition" of some original material too! The song "Rent With Option To Buy" is extremely well written, by Larry, and has awesome harmony and meaning. The other, Stand Outish song "God Became A Little Lamb" written by Scott, is equally good. These guy's in my oppinion are doing a magnificent job of carrying on the Legacy, started by the originals. Their voice technic, and blend is tops. As well their smooth voices, and the range of each is significant. Don Baldwin, Dave Kyllonen, Neil Enloe, Duane Nicholson and Phil Enloe, must be honoured to have such men, take over their Ministry. These guy's have the Love for the music, but more than that is their genuine Christ Like Spirit, and committment, to spread the "Good News" of the saving power of Jesus, to a lost and dying world. I have the greatest respect for all of The Couriers, past and present, and I sometime's wonder how different the Gospel Music in this world would have been with-out them. They have my blessings, and as far as I'm concerned, their sound is still "Unique" and "Unmistakably The Couriers" Timothy Bell Ontario, Canada.

WHEN I HEARD THIS CD, I WAS IN SHOCK... I WAS EXPECTING A COMPLETELY NEW SOUND... TO WHICH I WOULD HAVE BEEN SORRY.. CAUSE THE COURIERS ALWAYS MEANS CLASS... THESE BOYS WERE TRAINED BY THE MASTERS, FOR THE TRUE MASTERS SERVICE.... THE SOUND AND HARMONY ARE THE SAME... NO NEED TO WORRY....QUALITY - CLASS - SOUND - CALLING -VISION- STILL THE SAME.

MAY GOD BLESS YOUR MINISTRY
