Daryl Williams Trio - Right Now
Starting the CD off with a get up and go number “The Best Hallelujah In The House”, you better have your seat belt on as you listen to this one. I love the saxophone in the track. “I Know Where The Well Is” has a bit of a country feel to it. The message is one of encouragement. Daryl’s wife, Karen is featured on “Rest Beside You Trouble”. She sings it with such a mellow attitude that it really conveys the message of the song. As great a songwriter as Daryl is, he doesn’t get bogged down in his own stylings by recording a couple of songs by other writers. Bill Gaither is a pretty good writer as shown in the rendition that features Daryl on “Joy Comes In The Morning”. They also do a rousing rendition of the old Red Back Hymnal song “Oh, I Want To See Him”. Of course it has been released to radio by The Talleys, but there is no lack of expression when the Daryl Williams Trio sings “Jesus Saves”. If you’re not careful you’ll do a little shouting on this cut. There are a few good songs for radio release on this CD. There’s probably more, but I’d say “Shoutin’ Spell”, “The Last Word”, and “Right Time, Right Place” would all go very well on radio. There are some really nice fiddles on “Shoutin’ Spell”. Other fine songs by Daryl include “I Know Why”, and “Our Daily Bread”. Reader Comments
