David Hill - Called To Compassion
![]() Produced by Jason Clark I have missed David Hill's voice in Southern Gospel Music for a while. David sang with the Nelons for a short while back in the 90s, and if you liked that sound, you will love this CD. That's no doubt because the background singers on all the songs are none other than Kelly Nelon Clark and Jason Clark. This CD has the same sound as the project that David recorded with the Nelons. All of the songs were penned by either David Hill or Jason Clark, or both in a combined effort, with the lone exception of “We Are A Christian Army” which was penned by David, Jason, and Tim Lovelace. Two songs that really jumped out at me were “I've Got Jesus” and “What About Jesus”. I would like to hear either or both of these songs on radio. They are both “get up and go” songs and I think they could see some chart action. Another song that really touched me is “The Day Nobody Praised Him.” This is a strong ballad with a great message. There are ten great songs on this CD and I didn't hear a weak one on the entire project. This is David Hill singing on his own strength and his own merits, and he does it very well. Reader Comments

Did David Hill sing lead for Gold City for a short time? Or am I thinking of someone else?

Yes, David did sing with GC. He was lead on the "Standing in the Gap" CD.
