The popular thing to do today is to record a CD full of old hymns and classics, and none have been performed any better than this collection put together by Gold City. I don’t know if they intended to or not, but they have really caught that old Statesmen sound on several of these old classics, especially “Sittin’ Round The Table”, and “I’m Saved”. All you can say is WOW as you listen to these two classics.

Tim Riley does a fantastic job as he is featured on “I’m Free”. That’s a great Bass feature and Tim excels at this type of song. Of course Tim gets small features on many of the songs on this CD. Jonathan Wilburn really sinks his teeth into “That Old Time Preacher Man.”  You could swear that you are sitting back in your living room in the 60s listening to this great Albert E Brumley song. Everyone gets featured on a little part in “In The Sweet Forever”, but you catch o glimpse of Danny Riley’ smooth Baritone voice on this one. Jay Parrick gets to shine a little on “He’s A Personal Savior” and “Standing By The River.”

All in all, if you are looking for a CD that will bless your socks off with old time music, then you have found it in this CD.
