Goss Brothers - Remembering
![]() Label: Independent Release Reader Comments
You are exactly right about the Goss Brothers being ahead of their time, in every way. I started buying Goss Brothers records in the 1960s (Lari and I are the same age). And one year at NQC, at that booth where you can buy the vintage records and videos from years past, I paid a large amount of money for a Goss Brothers record album that still had the plastic on it (worth every penny!). Mark Trammell followed me all over the exhibit hall trying to get that record from me. I am SO excited about this new release and can't wait to get my copy. Their arrangements, their harmonies...everything about their singing was TOPS. Thanks for this, Goss Brothers, and God bless you!

I would say that this collection is an ESSENTIAL one for anyone who purports to be a fan of gospel music, or anyone who claims to enjoy "progressive" gospel music, and who wants to know what that was back in the 1960s and 1970s.

"The Top of The Hill" will always be my favorite. "When I reach the top of the hill, when I've gone the last long mile, when I come to journeys end, I'll be welcomed by a Friend, Who's been guiding and watching over me. Are there any more comforting words than these? Yes, there are, two CD's full.

The Goss Brothers is my absolute favorite gospel groups of all time. When Lari and I work together, I always get info out of him about how the recordings were made or a road story. My grandad used to park Dad in front of the TV and make him watch the Bob Poole Show when the Goss Brothers were on, I guess it worked!
