When Greg Day released his last recording “Mercy’s Gift”, I loved it and it solidified what I already knew…Greg is a brilliant songwriter as well as an excellent vocalist. With this newest endeavor, “God’s Word Will Stand”, I am even more impressed with his abilities as a writer and singer. Greg writes and co-writes songs with extremely strong Biblical principles and you just know that when you hear a Greg Day song, you’re getting some real “meat and potatoes gospel”. This recording features mostly his newer material as well as some previously recorded songs. From beginning to end this is highly enjoyable, spiritually uplifting recording. The songs are evenly paced and provide a nice, easy flow from one song to another.

Songs like “THIS SIDE OF THE CROSS”, “I’VE GOT AN ADVOCATE”, “I’LL CARRY THE GOSPEL”, “A VERY PRESENT HELP”, and “WALKING IN THE FAVOR OF GOD” are all excellent examples of how Greg can take the truths from scripture and sculpt them into brilliant songs.

Greg included some of his more recent cuts from other groups and put his own spin on them such as “GOD’S WORD WILL STAND” and “EVERYBODY PRAISE THE LORD” (both recorded by Ivan Parker), “A GREAT AND AWESOME GOD” (recorded by Crossway) and the Ruppes classic “ANGELS IN THE ROOM.” Other excellent songs include “IT’S ENOUGH” and “LORD IT HURTS, BUT YOU’RE STILL GOD.”

Rarely will you hear me make this comment, but there really isn’t a bad song to be found on the entire recording. It is the opinion of this writer, that if he keeps churning out songs like this, his name will be included along side some of the greatest songwriters ever in Southern Gospel Music like Dottie Rambo, Rusty Goodman, Mosie Lister, Ronnie Hinson and the like. Not only are the songs great in their own right, but also vocally and musically, it’s just a superb piece of work all the way around. I recieved this project several weeks ago and I dont think I listened to anything else for about a week, it was that good. Knowing Greg for several years, I've found Greg to be a very humble person who believes everything he writes and sings and his sincerity comes across in every song on this project. Please check it out, you wont be disappointed. :thumbsup:

Greg . Harlan has recorded several of your songs and thinks you are the best. Fact is he has just recorded several of the songs on your current cd. Not only is he super impressed with your songwriting. he likes your singing and he really likes you as a person and has enjoyed talking with you.

I THINK GREG DAY IS A VERY ANNOINTED SONG WRITER. I HAVE A COPY OF THIS CD AND I PLAY IT QUITE OFTEN ON MY WAY TO WORK AND AT HOME. ALL THE SONGS ARE GREAT. THE SOUTH CAROLINA GROUP SAFE HARBOR RECORDED A FEW SONGS OFF OF THIS PROJECT. MY FAVORITE BEING "I'LL CARRY THE GOSPEL".SAFE HARBOR HAS ALSO RECORDED SEVERAL OTHER SONGS THAT GREG HAS WRITTEN. OFF OF GREG'S CD MY FAVORITE BEING "LORD IT HURTS, BUT YOU'RE STILL GOD". GREG STAY CLOSE TO THE LORD AND JUST WRITE WHAT HE SAYS. TELL HEATHER HELLO.

"Lord It Hurts" is a #1 song in my opinion. I wonder if he's going to release this or send it to another group. Good CD.

Greg Day has always been a true friend to The Whisnants. Starting before he wrote our first Top 10 song, "I Stand For The Lord". If you've loved Greg's writing in the past, I'm sure you'll enjoy his new project. Thanks again Greg, we love you!
