Harlan Burton - Walking In The Favor of God
Harlan delivers some great new songs by notable songwriters such as Greg Day and Squire Parsons. Plus, he resurrects several Southern Gospel classics like “By and By”, “When The Morning Comes”, “I’ve Never Been This Homesick Before”, and “Hallelujah Square”. The most interesting part of his classic cuts is that they are fresh arrangements, and sparkle with brilliant vocals by Harlan. The project starts with the title song, “Walking In The Favor of God” an upbeat song with great production, and sort of a big band feel. The slow country “I’ve Got The Scars To Prove It” follows. The classics, “By and By, When The Morning Comes” and “I’ve Never Been This Homesick Before” come next. Buckle your seatbelt for “He Who Was And Is To Come.” Harps! Bells! Awesome Orchestration! Goosebumps on Goosebumps!!! One of the best solid Southern Gospel songs I’ve heard, “It’s Enough” comes next, followed by the resurrection of “Hallelujah Square”, and another great SG song, “The Storm Clouds Are Rolling In.” I really loved the piano work on this one. The project ends with Gordon Jenson’s awesome, “Redemption Draweth Night”, and a great Squire Parsons song, “We Shall Get Home.” This is a wonderfully enjoyable project that every Southern Gospel fan will want in their collection. My Favorites: “He Who Was And Is To Come”, “It’s Enough”, “Walking In The Favor of God” and “We Shall Get Home.” Reader Comments
Harlan's got one of the smoothest voices I have ever heard. "I've Got The Scars To Prove It" is his current radio release and the message blesses me everytime I hear it.
