While I have never been a big fan of Bluegrass, and would never consider myself an expert on the subject, if I were to pinpoint what I would consider to be "quality" Bluegrass Gospel Music, then Harvest would be an example of such.  Consisting of Caleb Smith, Mark Millsaps and Marty Price on vocals along with Bryan Hooper and Tyler Kirkpatrick rounding out the group, these guys really have a tight sound, which is quite evident throughout this recording.

Previously recorded by Brian Free & Assurance, "KEEPING THE OLD MAN DOWN" opens the recording and is done up anew as Harvest turns in an excellent performance with their rendition of the song before moving on to a great song of consecration entitled, "TAKE MY LIFE".

The first single release from the recording is "LORD, I COULDN’T MAKE IT WITHOUT YOU", and it does a great job showcasing these guys musically and vocally.

Featuring a similar tempo and feel, "FISHERS OF MEN" is a cool tune and the guys are joined by Sonya Isaacs on the chorus before the tempo slows down a bit for "MARY’S LITTLE LAMB".

Ben Isaacs joins the guys on the accapella tune entitled, "VOICE IN THE WILDERNESS" before the pace finally picks up with "TRUST IN ME" and "CALL OUT HIS NAME".  Things slow back down for haunting "I DON’T KNOW WHY".

The recording ends with two rollicking tunes, "LET MY LIFE BE A LIGHT" (with Charlotte Ritchie joining them on the chorus) and "THE END OF THE ROAD"

For the most part, the songs do not vary much in tempo for they all tend to fall into the medium tempo range.  Their first recording, "John 4:35" was quite good and impressed me greatly.  While this recording is just as good as their first, I wouldn’t say it was any better.  As songwriters, singers and musicians, these guys are excellent at their craft and I find their music well worth listening to over and over again.
