Recording “vintage” songs is a common practice for every group at some time or other. Most of the time you can count on the same songs that everyone else has recorded. This fine young trio has done a fine job of song selection.

While there are no new songs on here, most of these songs have a new approach to them. Excitement and expression are the two traits that radiate from this group.  From the first song, the old classic “The Eastern Gate”, you get the feeling that they are singing these songs just for you. “I’m Going That Way” will have you lifting your hands in praise all the while wanting to find someone to tell that you are on your way to Heaven.

If you do not own a Red Back Hymnal, after hearing “The Eastern Gate”, “Meeting In The Air”, and “The Old Gospel Ship”, you will be looking for a bookstore to get your copy of all these life-changing songs.

You may be having one of those “Hallelujah” spells while listening to “What A Meeting”. I had to listen to it a couple of times. My favorite pick though is the old hymn “In The Garden”. There is just something about their interpretation of this song that puts you in a very worshipful attitude.

The old Dottie Rambo song “Sheltered In The Arms Of God” is very simply performed with just piano on the track. Other songs include Aaron Wilburn’s “What A Beautiful Day” and the old hymn “Haven Of Rest”.

This is a must have for all HisSong fans, and if you dare to pick it up, I assure you that you will be a HisSong fan after you’ve listened to this CD.

THIS REVIEW WAS VERY WELL WRITTEN. IN MY OPINION IT IS ONE OF THE BEST HYMNS PROJECTS THAT HAS EVER BEEN RECORDED. OF COURSE EVERYONE HAS FAVORITES. MY VERY FAVORITES ON THE PROJECT ARE
(HAVEN OF REST) AND(SHELTERED IN THE ARMS OF GOD). (I`M GOING THAT WAY) IS ALSO A GREAT SONG. IT`S SO HARD TO PICK JUST ONE OR TWO ON THE CD. OF COURSE (IN THE GARDEN)IS A GOOD SONG. I LOVE THE VERSION OF (OLD GOSPEL SHIP) IT`S GREAT. I HEARD OF HISSONG THROUGH A FRIEND WHO IS A HUGH FAN. NOW I`M A HUGH FAN. I BORROWED THE CD FROM MY FRIEND. I ORDERED MY COPY LAST WEEK.
DOES ANYONE KNOW IF HISSONG IS PERFORMING AT NQC?? I WILL BE ATTENDING MOST OF THE WEEK. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK HISSONG

The songs on this Vintage project are great. Adam, when you sing "Sheltered in the Arms of God", it is with such enthusiasm that I feel as if I have entered into the very arms of God. There is no one who can sing this song like you can. Gary, when you sing "In the Garden" it's as if the breath of God is rustling the trees and grass in the garden and God is right there with me. Dennis, "Haven of Rest" makes me realize that whatever life throws my way, that I have anchored my trust in Jesus and I am safe evermore. And "Good Old Gospel Ship" is outstanding because each of you take a verse and sing it with all your heart. All of the other songs on the project are great and they have been a blessing to me. Always keep your focus on God and He will take care of everything for you. You guys mean the world to me and I know God has great things in store for you. Joyce Silvers

I love HisSong. They have one of the best trio sounds in southern gospel music. However, I`m glad I finally got there brand new CD. I LOVE it.
I have worked at a country/gospel radio station for years. I hope they get with a really good record company that will truly believe in them. I dont know these guys personally but I do know good a sound. They have everything it takes and more.
HisSong, I`ll come by your booth at NQC for a interview & photo.

This is a great project you guys! The CD was great but the live version was that much better. When you sang The Old Gospel Ship(all three times!!) you brought the house down. I love you guys and you know you'll always have my support. Keep up the great blessed work you do.

The Vintage Project is out of this world. I have never enjoyed a cd so much in all my life. My favorite songs are, of course I love them all but my favorites are "Sheltered in the Arms of God", "Haven of Rest", "Good Old Gospel Ship" and "In the Garden". You guys do such a tremendous job singing those songs. Adam, I have never heard anyone do such a tremendous job as you do on that song. Its almost like I can feel myself sitting in the Lord's lap and knowing that nothing can ever harm me. I could almost shout when I hear them. They definitely will minister to your heart but I have to say it doesn't even compare to what I hear when I am actually hearing you guys sing live. You guys have done an awesome job, so keep up the good work and don't let anyone ever pull you down. You guys have prayed and sought the Lord through making preparation for this CD and my did the Lord ever lay on your hearts the most comforting songs. You guys mean a lot to me and I pray that the Lord will continue to use you for His Honor and Glory and that lives would be changed as you minister. Kacey Smith

I really do like the new Vintage project. You guys pick the best songs! I guess"Sheltered in the Arms of God" would have to be my favorite, but I like them all! Adam, you do a wonderful job and that song is so comforting. Gary, Dennis and Adam have really been a blessing to us and all their songs have ministered to our hearts. We love you and God bless you!
