Keith & Kayla Rivenbark – Written in Heaven
![]() Producer: Terry Carter/Rick Salyer Keith and Kayla Rivenbark are a father/daughter duo hailing from North Carolina . Keith, who used to sing baritone with the Anchormen, has obviously instilled a love for Southern Gospel Music in his daughter Kayla, and they have come together with the help of Terry Carter on the third harmony part, to record this CD entitled, “Written in Heaven.” Featuring mostly Keith's 13-year-old daughter, Kayla shows a lot of potential. Featuring songs that have been previously recorded by other artists, and for the most part, featuring the original soundtracks by those artists, you can probably imagine, it doesn't leave a lot of room for originality all the way around. But like I said, it shows a lot of potential. Featuring a potpourri of classics, hit songs and cover tunes, the duo weaves through former and current Perry's tunes like “WAIT TIL YOU SEE MY BRAND NEW HOME”, “GOD WALKS THE DARK HILLS”, “I WISH I COULD HAVE BEEN THERE”, “OUT OF HARMS WAY”, “WHEN I START LOOKING AHEAD”, the former Hoskins Family chart song, “WRITTEN IN HEAVEN”, a blast from the past with an old Anchormen hit, “WHEN JESUS PASSED BY” and a couple of other classics like “WHAT A DAY THAT WILL BE” and “WHEN I GET CARRIED AWAY”. With some pitch issues and not a lot of originality as far as the recording goes, Kayla shows a lot of potential here and I look for her to really come out as she grows and matures into a dynamite singer and her daddy ain't too shabby either!
