Larry Gatlin has traveled many roads in his long career, and now he has come back to his roots. Larry is known for some of the great Country Music hits that he has written, but he has also remained close to Southern Gospel by writing many Gospel songs.

Though he is a very talented writer, Larry decided this CD would be all older well known Gospel classics. From the starting unison on “Swing Down Sweet Chariot,” to the ending medley of “Victory In Jesus/Power In The Blood,” this CD is full of old fashioned, down home, great harmony singing.

I particularly enjoyed the rendition of “Rock Of Ages.” The only problem is that it is too short.

There are twelve great songs on this CD that will take you back to the church of your childhood, and lift up your soul to new blessings.

LAY THEM DOWN is such a beautiful song. I heard it Thursday December 9, 2004 for the first time. That is an album I will definately look up.

I am a HUGE old country fan. I love these guys.I just couldnt find the record today. never can find the good music. Plenty of shelved junk, nothing worth buying.

I happen to be online several days ago with my tv tuned to channel 16,when the gaithers came on..I heard this gentleman start singing and suddenly my very being was bathed in the presense of almighty God..I got up and went in that room without moving until it was through..that man was larry gatlin,the song was,"lay them down"..since that time I've been on a search to find that song..well,I found it on ebay in the gaither video"journey to the sun"..such a blessing!!
