The Kings - Still On My Feet
![]() Label: Oak Tree Productions Song Titles: "Don't Throw The Anchor," "Just A Little Bit Further," "Left Behind," "Maybe That's Just Me," "Convinced I'm Over The Worst," "Still On My Feet," "I Know That I Can Make It," "One Step," "Standing At The River," and "What A Great Day" The Kings' 2002 release titled Still On My Feet is a very solid recording. This family trio (two ladies/one man) offers a mix of Southern Gospel styles with influences including country, jazz, and a touch of pop. The production quality is very good. Producer Tre' Corley achieves a nice balance between computer sequenced and live instruments. Vocal harmonies aren't overly complex, but the blend between the Kings' voices is quite pleasant to the ear. Based on what I hear on this CD, I would think there's a great deal of potential in the future for this trio. (Regular readers of my CD reviews will know I don't make that type of statement lightly.) Assuming proper promotion, adequate concert circuit exposure and stick-to-it qualities on the part of group members, nothing should stand in the way of them making a career in music. At the very least, they have the skills to impress despite the limitations of what appears to be a moderately budgeted recording. Reader Comments
