Does anyone have an idea who wrote “I’m Happy In the Lord Anyway’, and any publishing info? Thanks

The Talley’s sang one by that name.  They probably wrote it.

That is one of the most time consuming part of when we produce a new CD.  There is not a central clearing house for music and there are sometimes 20 songs with the same name.  It is very frustrating.

The first recording I ever heard this song on was “Distinctively” by the Cathedrals. This was the first album the Cathedrals recorded after Danny Funderburk joined.

I do not remember the Talleys ever recording this song.

The Author was Shirley Jean Cantrell. It was published by Homeward Bound Music.

Cathedrals and Singing Americans recorded it. I don’t know about others. In fact I think Danny Funderburk was with both groups when they recorded the song.

Danny did record the song first with the Singing Americans on the Riversong album “Everybody Ought to Praise His Name” which came out in 1983.  It too lists S. Cantrell as the writer.
