(Bessemer City, NC) The Melody Masters Quartet, one of gospel music's most critically acclaimed male quartets of the past decade, will continue reunion concerts during the remaining months of 2005 and throughout 2006. The success of the 2004 "Power and Praise Reunion Tour" has prompted the MMQ to continue a limited concert and touring schedule in conjunction with the release of their new project Big Change on the Son Sound Music Group Platinum label. Co-produced by Scott Whitener and Chris Roberts (vocals) in conjunction with Zane King of Journey Records (tracks), Big Change features ten new and inspiring songs from such notable writers as Dianne Wilkinson, McCray Dove, Luke Garrett, and Marty Raybon. The material enables MMQ to maintain strong, Christ-centered material for its many church concerts while introducing music that has a broad appeal to listeners in the fair and festival venues where MMQ is increasingly in demand.
The Big Change Tour is being launched during the weekend of July 23-24, 2005 and features a Sunday evening, July 24 concert at Hickory Grove Baptist Church in Charlotte, NC. Hickory Grove Church is North Carolina's largest Southern Baptist church with over 6,000 in regular attendance. The complete schedule of the MMQ's limited touring and concert appearances is located on their web site: (http://www.themelodymastersquartet.com). Scheduling for the MMQ is available exclusively through The Dominion Agency (http://www.thedominionagency.com), and radio representation will be available through Son Sound Music Group (http://www.sonsound.com).
The Big Change Tour will also feature the group’s second annual cruise in association with Christian Tours of Newton, NC, March 4-11, 2006, leaving from Charleston, SC with travel to Georgetown, Grand Caymans, Cozumel, Mexico, and Key West, Florida. Dr. Greg T. Mathis and Dr. Tom Wagner will present inspiring messages. The Rick Webb Trio will join MMQ in presenting music throughout the cruise. The Melody Masters Quartet consists of bass singer Richard Sanders, who is retired from a career in corporate security and resides in Forest City, NC with his wife, Kim. Richard has sung bass with the MMQ for most of the past 10 years and is widely recognized as one of gospel music's most versatile bass singers. Baritone singer Roger Burnett, whose solid blending baritone voice is a key to the unique harmony of the MMQ, lives in Chesnee, SC with his wife, Nell and is retired from a long career with Duke Power Company. The defining voice in the MMQ sound is that of lead singer Scott Whitener, one of the most recognizable singers in gospel music today. Nominated many times for various industry awards, the former member of The Singing Americans lives in Dallas, NC with his wife, Judy. Scott presently serves as Director of Music and Administration at Ragan Wesleyan Church in Bessemer City, NC where his Praise Choir has made recent appearances at regional Wesleyan Church events. Tenor singer and pianist Chris Roberts lives in Flat Rock, NC with his wife, Janet and children, Tara and Nathan. He is beginning his third year as an Associate Pastor and as Minister of Music at the 3,000-member Mud Creek Baptist Church in Hendersonville, NC, where he serves with distinguished Senior Pastor and prominent Southern Baptist leader Dr. Greg T. Mathis. Chris was recently recognized by a national organization as one of the top 20 worship leaders in the United States.
