Industry Pros to Judge Day of Prayer Theme Song Entries

NASHVILLE, TN—Songwriters entering this contest have an extraordinary opportunity for music industry experts to hear their songs, plus a shot at national exposure for their writing talent.

Judging the National Day of Prayer Task Force Songwriting Contest are twenty-one music industry professionals with job descriptions ranging from performer, to hit songwriter to record label executive. This diverse and distinguished roster of industry pros represents a cross-section of music styles ranging from Country to Southern Gospel, from Gospel Soul to Contemporary Christian, from Pop to Praise & Worship. First Prize in the National Day of Prayer Task Force Songwriting Contest includes: selection of the winning song as the theme for the 2006 National Day of Prayer observances; a professional master recording produced by Doxology Records; a radio single; use of the song in a promotional video for the National Day of Prayer 2006, and more.

Recording comes courtesy of Doxology Records, a label devoted to developing artists with a desire to use and express their gifts within the context of the Church and its mission. Doxology is proud of its long association with the National Day of Prayer Task Force and has been instrumental in producing the songs and music videos for the National Day of Prayer in years past.

The judges will choose the First, Second and Third Place winners in October.

Contest deadline for song submissions is September 26, 2005. The theme for song submissions is, “America, Honor God!” and the companion Bible verse is I Samuel 2:30, “Those who honor Me, I will honor.”
