The Ruppes won Song of the Year last week at the 2006 US Gospel News/SGM Fan Fair Awards. The song, "Some Things Never Change", was the popular trio's debut single from their critically acclaimed album, Sweet Forever. The song was written by Greg Day (group member Heather Day's husband) and Steve Hurte.

The group was also announced as a performer in the 2006 SGN Music Awards Celebration on April 25, 2006. The ladies have been nominated in five categories - including Album of the Year, Progressive Southern Album of the Year, and Best Album Cover (for Sweet Forever).
