Owensboro, KY--For the first time, GMA is bringing its GMA Academy seminar and talent competition to Crabbfest, The Crabb Family's four-day music festival held in Owensboro, Ky. Set for July 5-8 at the Owensboro Sports Center, the GMA Academy event will take place that Friday and Saturday.
The two-day seminar and talent competition will be focused on the southern gospel market, with classes taught by industry professionals, artists and songwriters. There also will be an Artist & Song of 2006 talent competition for aspiring southern gospel artists and songwriters. Prizes include a performance slot at Crabbfest (Vocal Solo and Vocal Group winners), a single-song publishing agreement with Daywind Music Publishing (Song winner), free registration to this summer's 32nd Annual GMA Music in the Rockies, an invitation to compete in the Artist 2006 & Song of 2006 National Competition at GMA Music in the Rockies and more. The deadline to enter the talent competition at Crabbfest has been extended and you must be registered for the event to be eligible to compete.
This year's Crabbfest features more than 30 artists, including The Crabb Family, Salvador, The Isaacs, Brian Free & Assurance, Karen Peck & New River, Russ Taff and Lynda Randle. The event also will feature Afternoon Praise & Worship Extravaganzas in addition to the Midnight Jam, New Artist Spectacular and much more.
