Alvordton, Ohio: Twenty-two year old Nathan Stoops has been hired to fill the baritone position with Naomi and the Sego's previously left vacant by Caleb Cowan's departure.
Nathan began playing the violin at the age of seven. Later, he studied music privately at Hillsdale College (Hillsdale, Mich) and, most recently, at the Cincinnatti Conservatory Of Music. By the age of fourteen, he was accepted in the Hillsdale College Orchestra and remained there for seven years. As a senior in high school, he participated in the ACE competition, where he placed first in the string solo division, both at the state and international levels.
For the past two years, Nathan has been using his talents as a member of the house band at The Gospel Barn in Hillsdale, MI. About six months ago, he began singing with The Throne Together Quartet, a group designed to be a training organization for young people to learn vital music and ministry tools before pursuing a career in southern gospel music.
Nathan states, "My time spent playing music at The Gospel Barn and singing with the quartet has greatly increased my love for southern gospel music, and for sharing Christ's love to others through song. I am thrilled to be a part of Naomi & The Segos, and I thank God for this opportunity for me to minister on a full-time basis."
