NASHVILLE, TN (February 20, 2007) – After less than 1 year in operation, Vine Records is pleased to announce 4 Dove Award nominations for 2007. Announced earlier today at a press conference, the legendary Lewis Family, recent inductees into the Hall of Honor of the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA), were nominated for Bluegrass Recorded Song of the Year (“My Cross”), as well as Bluegrass Album of the Year (“Flyin’ High”). After twenty-seven years of full time ministry, perennial favorites, the Cumberland Quartet, were also nominated twice – for Bluegrass Album of the Year (“Acoustic Hymns Vol. 1”) and Christmas Album of the Year (“A Christmas Homecoming”).
Kevin Ward, co-founder of Vine Records, expressed his reaction to the news: “These nominations are such a wonderful affirmation for the ministry of our artists, and we’re looking forward to moving ahead with the momentum that has been building during our first year as a label.”
According to Wayne Haun, co-founder of Vine Records, “It has been an incredible beginning for Vine. We’re the new kid on the block and we’re a small company. I think these nominations have proven to us that our artists have a lot of friends and fans out there who really like what they do.”
The nominated projects are now available through Vine Records and Christian bookstores everywhere
