MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Deon and Susan Unthank, administrators of SoGospelNews.com, are proud to announce the addition of TK & McRae as a featured performer in the upcoming 2007 SGN Music Awards Celebration.
TK & McRae is one of the newest names in Southern Gospel music. The group was formed by the merger of two of Southern Gospel’s most beloved groups – First Love and The McRaes. With the combined talents of Troy & Katy Peach, Amanda Till, and Annie McRae, the group is set to take the Gospel music scene by storm.
The McRaes have won Female Group of the Year two years in a row, and are nominated for the award again this year. The group was also nominated for three additional awards, including Song of the Year (for “He Knows My Name”), Progressive Southern Song of the Year (for “He Knows My Name”), and Country/Bluegrass Song of the Year (for “The Word of the Lord”).
“We are happy to include such an exciting new group to our awards program,” mentioned Deon Unthank of SoGospelNews.com. “We’ve already heard some great sounds coming from this group. They will be an outstanding addition to our program!”
Additional performers for the awards program include Gold City, Talley Trio, Booth Brothers, Dove Brothers Quartet, Mike & Kelly Bowling, Three Bridges, the Dunaways, Kim Collingsworth, The Imperials, Beloved, and the Dills.
Hosting the Awards Celebration this year will be last year’s hosts, Chris Unthank and Southern Gospel singer/songwriter/comedienne Sondra Burnett. Burnett will also be performing a selection from her nominated project Family Reunion.
The 2007 SGN Music Awards Celebration will be held at River of Life Church in Smyrna, Tennessee, on Tuesday, April 17, 2006. The program will start promptly at 7:00 p.m. The Awards Celebration is free to the public.
