Gospel recording artist Brittni Ward and her mother, Tina Ward, escaped serious injury in an automobile accident on Sunday night, April 22. The Wards were returning to their home in Hattisburg, MS, following a weekend concert in South Georgia, traveling in the westbound lane on I-10 near Crestview, Fla. As they approached an overpass, they swerved to miss a large wooden packing crate which was in the middle of the highway. They lost control of the car which rolled over, crossed the median and came to rest on its wheels in the eastbound lane of the Interstate. The vehicle was totaled.
Although neither of the Wards was wearing a seatbelt (Not smart! commented Brittni.), there were no serious injuries. It's an absolute miracle that we're okay! God really had His hands on us literally! He held us in our seats, she said. Both Brittni and her mother were checked out in the emergency room. While both sustained some bruising and soreness, they were able to continue their trip home.
A quick call to friends in the area, Terry and Tammy Kirkland, brought some much needed help. They drove up to help us get our stuff together and get ourselves home, Brittni said. They're absolute sweethearts and I'm so thankful for them.
