Nashville, TN (April 26, 2007) - Even before marking its first anniversary in existence, Vine Records is celebrating an amazing milestone, its first 2 GMA/Dove Award wins.
Last night during the awards celebration at the Grand Ole Opry, the legendary Lewis Family -- recent inductees into the Hall of Honor of the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) -- were honored by the Gospel Music Association for Bluegrass Recorded Song of the Year ("My Cross"), as well as Bluegrass Album of the Year ("Flyin’ High").
As co-producer of the project, Kevin Ward accepted the Bluegrass Album of the Year Award on behalf of The Lewis Family; they were unable to attend due to their rigorous touring schedule, but were delighted to learn the news.
Wayne Haun, writer of the Bluegrass Recorded Song of the Year, "My Cross," and co-producer of the winning album, expressed his gratitude to the Gospel Music Association for choosing to honor bluegrass gospel with award categories that highlight the popular genre.
The double GMA/Dove-Award winning project by The Lewis Family is currently available through Vine Records and Christian bookstores everywhere.
