BLACKWELL, OK (Press Release) - On May 17, Jerry Hall, former owner, and lead singer of the Helmsmen Quartet of Blackwell, OK was rushed to St Anthony's Medical Center in Oklahoma City, OK with chest pains, and shortness of breath. Jerry’s doctors have found problems with his heart, and kidneys. Jerry's kidneys had almost completely shut down, and he underwent emergency surgery late Friday afternoon to place stints in each kidney. Doctors are optimistic on his kidneys, but are unable to do anything with his heart until the kidneys start functioning properly.
Jerry suffered a massive heart attack in 1986 while on the road with the Helmsmen. The Helmsmen were with the Eddie Crook Co. for many years, and recorded several hit songs. They later joined Bill Traylor, and Ben Speer at Welcome Home Records until Jerry retired from the road in the mid 90’s.
Please pray for Jerry, and family. You may send emails, and words of encouragement to (JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) or send cards to:
