
Alden K. Toney, one of the founding members of the Toney Brothers, passed away Sunday evening October 21, 2007. Alden was also known for being the tenor singer for the legendary Blackwood Brothers Quartet from 1949-1951. Alden passed at his home surrounded by his loving family. His wife, 4 children, 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren survive him. Alden was also a frequent participant in the Gaither Homecoming Series. His most requested song was “Wait Til You See Me In My New Home.”
The visitation will be held Thursday evening from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home, Clearwater, FL. The funeral will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, Clearwater, FL at 1 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Florida Suncoast or The Breakfast Club Ministries.
