NASHVILLE, Tenn., Feb. 20 / Song Garden Music Group/ -- The Country Music Association recently announced that The Statler Brothers will become the newest
members of the coveted Country Music Hall of Fame. Many will recall that Song Garden Music Group recording artist, Jimmy Fortune was the stellar tenor voice for the group for 21 years.

"It is truly fitting that these artists receive Country Music's biggest
honor and become the newest members of the Country Music Hall of Fame,"
said Tammy Genovese, CMA Chief Executive Officer. The harmonious Statler Brothers, whom Kurt Vonnegut once called 'America's Poets,' sang songs about life and love
while often providing nostalgic looks at simpler times.

The Statler Brothers will be officially inducted later this year during the traditional, invitation-only Country Music Hall of Fame Formal Induction and Medallion Ceremony presented by CMA and the Country Music Hall of Fame(R) and Museum.

Song Garden Music Group congratulates Jimmy and all of the Statler Brothers on this prestigious and well deserved honor. The Statler Brothers not only helped shape Country music into what it is, but they had an incredible influence and impact on Gospel Music.

CMA created the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1961 to recognize
noteworthy individuals for their outstanding contributions to the format
with Country Music's highest honor. All inductees are chosen by CMA's Hall
of Fame Panel of Electors, which consists of more than 300 anonymous voters
appointed by the CMA Board of Directors. Other artists being inducted into the CMA Hall Of Fame this year include Emmylou Harris, Tom T. Hall and the late Country Music pioneer Ernest "Pop" Stoneman Harris, Hall, the Statler Brothers
and Stoneman will increase membership in the coveted Country Music Hall of
Fame from 101 to 105 inductees.

I just read where The Statler Brothers were being inducted into the CMA Hall Of Fame, but I saw no mention of Lew Dewitt, who was an intrigal part of the Statler Brothers in the beginning, with the writing of their hit "Flowers On The Wall" I surely hope you do not forget his contribution to the group, had it not been for him, they would have just been a name on a tissue box

Be the kind of Christian that when your feet hit the floor each morning, the devils says “Oh No, he’s up!!”

Well, deserved guys! You all know you were an integral part of my growing up in Staunton, and good friends to my Mom and Dad. Thank you for musical contributions, your patriot spirit (the 4th of July concerts), and thank you world for "letting [them] contribute to the cause".
